You might be wondering why do I write in english. Well, there are two reasons: First of all for some reason I really enjoy writing in english but i didn't write in english till today because I thought we weren't able to do it, but as I saw that Eva did it I think we can, and second of all because I'm going to talk about dubbing in movies and series, and as most of the foreign movies and series that are released in our lovely country are originally in english, I can't think of any better way to do it.
Why should we watch movies in a foreign leguage wether it's easier to do it in our lenguage?
- Any cinephile to rate a movie has to take into account two important factors: Performances and Script. And my very dear readers, these two things can only be appreciated in the original version with the lenguage in which the movie was shot: Performances: as how an actor speaks and the way he play his role are the two essential points of a performance if you watch a dubbed movie you can't rate the perfomance because in every dubbed movie this essence is lost. Script: This is obvious, the words change completly, there are always more than 1 way of saying things but not always the dubbed movie says what the original version's scriptwriter wanted.
- I always say that of every movie there are so many movies as dubbed versions are, because it changes completly when the movie is dubbed. A meaningful example is Woody Allen's Vicky Cristina Barcelona, I've watched this movie twice, once in english in the cinema and once in spanish at home, In english it's alright, I mean, it's funny, just to have a good time and Cruz's superb perfomance is amazingly amusing. But in spanish... GOD! it was absolutly unbearable, Crappy was the only adjetive that I could thought of the movie, after that I understood why the spanish people were that dissapointed at Allen's film and the americans loved it (it won the best motion picture comedy Golden Globe).
- If you talk or wether you are learning the lenguage that is spoken on the movie you can improve your vocabulary, pronunciation, grammar and so on... Or if not, you are obliged to learn it, for example in Portugal not all the released movies are dubbed and because of that most of the portuguese people talk perfectly english (as most of the movies are in this language), and this makes an enormous increase in the culture of the country.
These are the most featured points, and the aim of this writing was just to try to make you watch movies in original version as much as you can, really, it's much more enjoyable, and you realise of what cinema is.
So you, as bilingual teens, start watching movies in original version, it's not a tremendous effort, for chrsit's shake!!!
Always in original version!
ResponderEliminarBest thing to watch anything
You´re so right Jorge! In everything... I have always believe that if you want to know if one actor/actress is really good acting you need to listen to how he/she pronounces, not just how that person moves and gestures.
ResponderEliminarWathever, i join to this advice. Watch films and series in original version!

I didn't say anything about it to Eva, because I forgot to answer her, but now I can say it: DO NOT WRITE IN ENGLISH ANYMORE, remember this is an activity for Spanish, so this is the first and the last time.
